Our Sales Associates at La-Z-Boy of Sarasota, FL are paid salary plus commission on written sales with NO COMMISSION CAP. On average, our Interior Designers earn over $45,000/year with top performers earning over $70k.

Our Interior Designers come from a variety of design backgrounds - interior design, fashion and fashion merchandising, visual merchandisers, kitchen design, fine arts and much more. We have the BEST customers in the world and are very selective about who we trust to care for them.

Sales Compensation

Competitive earnings potential: UNCAPPED commissions on WRITTEN Sales

Pay: training pay $20 per hour for 3 weeks

After training, the salary is $26,000 per year, plus commissions: 3.5% on La-Z-Boy Design Sales, 2% on Store Sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

• Achieve or surpass store and individual sales goals, annual operating benchmarks, and personal objectives.
• Promote the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program by drafting potential design solutions and presenting customized portfolio presentations tailored to the client’s requirements and preferences.
• Translate the client’s lifestyle, taste, and budget into actionable design recommendations.
• Schedule and conduct in-home consultations to understand clients' needs, preferences, and vision for their space.
• Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and fixtures.
• Provide coaching, training, and support to sales teams to improve design culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with support teams to ensure flawless execution of operational procedures.
• Ensure proper execution of all existing and new systems and administrative procedures.

SCOPE & IMPACT:

This position significantly influences the store's financial health, team morale and development, operational efficiency, and customer experience and community reputation. It reports to the Store Manager with indirect influence on the sales team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2-3 years in interior design, with a residential emphasis.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD programs, financial understanding, interpersonal communication, analytical skills, goal orientation, team management, and customer service.
• Other: Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays; valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Design Certification
• Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; business acumen; entrepreneurial spirit; experience in building relationships.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Repetitive hand motions, hearing, listening.
• Ability to sit, walk, bend, and stoop.
• Inside environmental conditions.
• Ability to pass background and drug screening.
