Local Marketing & Engagement Coordinator (Part-Time/Hybrid, Flexible Hours) We’re looking for an energetic, people-first Local Marketing & Engagement Coordinator to help grow two Waxing the City studios in Mount Prospect and Evanston. This part-time, hybrid role combines local event coordination, team motivation, and marketing outreach — including social media and community partnerships. Ideal for someone with great energy, organizational skills, and a passion for wellness, beauty, or hospitality. Flexible hours, bonus potential, and strong career growth opportunities!
Create Buzz. Motivate a Team. Help Build a Brand.
Are you a connector, motivator, and self-starter who loves building local relationships, bringing people together, and tracking results? If so, you might be the perfect fit to help grow two fast-scaling Waxing the City studios in Mount Prospect and Evanston.
We’re looking for a Local Marketing & Engagement Coordinator to lead local outreach, energize our Cerologist team, and drive appointment growth through smart, targeted community engagement. This is a dynamic, hybrid role that blends event planning, relationship-building, marketing coordination, and team collaboration — with a lot of room to grow as our studios scale.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll act as the vital bridge between external marketing efforts and our internal team of Cerologists (our licensed waxing experts). Your responsibilities will include:
Community Engagement & Events
Create local buzz by identifying and building partnerships with nearby businesses, wellness brands, fitness centers, and community groups
Plan, coordinate, and personally attend 1–2 local events per week – think farmers markets, fitness pop-ups, and outdoor sports events/tournaments
Organize occasional larger-scale events in collaboration with other local businesses (like bridal shows or local expos)
Internal Marketing Support
Lead weekday morning “huddles” (30–60 min per studio) to help Cerologists organize outreach plans, assign drop-offs, distribute swag, and stay motivated
Track B2B outreach efforts across both studios, including who’s visiting where, follow-ups, and results from outreach
Collaborate with the Owner(s) and Cerologists to refine outreach radius, prioritize target businesses, and test lead-generation ideas
Marketing Materials & Social Media
Source, assemble, and brand premium swag bags using franchise-approved and locally sourced items
Capture and share Cerologist outreach efforts and community events via Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
Be comfortable creating short-form content and showcasing our team’s personality online
What You Bring
Motivational energy — you’re naturally upbeat, great with people, and know how to get a team fired up
Organizational skills — you can track multiple outreach efforts, follow-up steps, and event plans
Social media comfort — especially Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
Strong communication skills, both in-person and virtually
A collaborative mindset — you support the team’s success, not just your own
Experience in community engagement, marketing, events, hospitality, fitness/wellness, or beauty is a plus
Schedule & Flexibility
Hybrid role: Approx. 50% onsite to start, decreasing to ~25% as processes become smooth
20–32 hours/week, including:
Weekday mornings (Mon–Fri): 1–2 hours per day for team huddles
Weekends (Sat/Sun): 1–2 events per week, typically mornings through early afternoon
Other hours: Flexible — used for event prep, tracking, and follow-up
Note: Weekend events typically yield the highest bonus impact — perfect for someone who wants to maximize earning potential
Compensation & Perks
Target compensation: $40,000–$75,000/year (base + uncapped bonus tied to studio revenue and profitability)
Profit-sharing opportunities
Employee service discounts
Flexible scheduling
Opportunities to grow into broader operations or marketing roles as we scale
