WAVY-TV 10 and FOX43, the number one rated media company in Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Portsmouth, Virginia, is seeking an AM Reporter. WAVY is known for breaking news coverage, utilizing advanced technology including drones, and providing thorough community reporting with our 10 On Your Side team.
Responsibilities
- Break local stories by cultivating sources and serving the community.
- Generate story ideas, conduct follow-ups, and contribute to content across all platforms with a 'Digital First' approach.
- Shoot and edit stories independently is a plus.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of Reporter/MMJ experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to ad lib when necessary.
- Strong on-air presence.
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Flexibility to work any shift, including overnights and weekends.
