Ayond (ayond.us) is a dynamic brand specializing in skincare and fragrance products. We are seeking a seasoned marketing professional to lead and manage our marketing initiatives and help us grow our product offering.
Position Overview:
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand growth and awareness. This role requires close collaboration with the founders and involves setting and overseeing the marketing budget, guiding product development and marketing, managing product assortment, and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and optimize marketing efforts. Must understand start-up/small business constraints, both team and budget, and be flexible and adaptable with solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Strategy
- Conduct audits of the current brand offering and value proposition.
- Refine brand narratives and messaging to align with Ayond’s brand vision.
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy, including a detailed marketing plan, execution roadmap, and calendar.
Budget Management
Establish, oversee, and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact
Product Development & Marketing
Collaborate with founders and the product team to influence product development, marketing strategies, product assortment, and pricing. Ensure all product initiatives align with the brand vision and market demand.
Campaign Execution
Oversee marketing campaigns across digital platforms, including email, website, and social media, to support product launches, promotions, events, and lead nurturing. Work closely with internal teams and external partners to plan and execute multi-channel marketing initiatives.
Performance Measurement & Optimization
Develop tools and frameworks to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Regularly assess marketing efforts and use data-driven insights to refine strategies.
Lead and execute digital marketing strategies to drive list growth, direct-to-consumer (DTC) conversion, customer engagement, lifetime loyalty, and value proposition enhancements.
Experience & Expertise
7+ years of marketing experience, with a strong focus on the skincare and fragrance industries.
3-5 years of hands-on experience with DTC platforms and marketing tools (e.g., Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Ads), as well as performance marketing strategies.
Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive business growth.
Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing marketing budgets and optimizing resource allocation.
Strategic & Leadership Skills
Demonstrated ability to lead marketing initiatives and collaborate with executive leadership.
Skilled in both independent execution and cross-functional teamwork, providing proactive insights, innovative strategies, and proven methods to drive growth.
Experience working closely with front-end and back-end developers, brand teams, creative teams, and operations partners.
Analytical & Technical Skills
Proficiency in tracking KPIs, analyzing marketing performance, and making data-driven decisions.
Experience in product development, marketing strategy, and product assortment within the beauty and fragrance industry.
Ability to develop and execute e-commerce, email, and SMS roadmaps that align with acquisition, retention, and conversion goals.
Creative & Brand Alignment
Deep understanding of high-end design aesthetics and ability to adapt strategies within a brand’s visual identity.
Passion for personal care, fragrance, sustainability, and intentional storytelling.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas and strategies effectively.

Location: Remote; preference for candidates based in the New York City area.
The salary range for this position is from $90,000 to $140,000. The salary will be determined based on overall skills and experience.
