The Job
Worldwide Television Marketing seeks a Vice President, Publicity for the WWTVM Communications & Publicity department. The Vice President, Publicity, will work closely with the Executive Vice President, Marketing & Communications, on a wide range of strategic publicity issues for the divisions of the Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) and its programming. In this role, the VP is responsible for:
- Conceptualizing, planning and executing major live events related to programming from divisions of the Warner Bros. Television Group.
- Supervising day-to-day consumer publicity activities related to programming from the Horizon Scripted Television production division, as well as overseeing consumer publicity for International Television.
- Spearheading consumer-facing communications campaigns in collaboration with the publicity team to maximize opportunities across all of the Studio’s primetime television properties.
The Daily
- Events: Responsible for conceptualizing, planning and executing WBTVG participation in major live events, including Comic-Con (and WonderCon, New York Comic Con, etc.), SXSW, the Television Critics Association’s summer and winter press tours, and international press junkets. Overall event duties to include budgeting, creating timelines and overseeing staffing and securing brand sponsors. Measure earned media value for events and all special projects, and work to increase same.
- Departmental Leadership: Work closely with Executive Vice President, Marketing & Communications, as part of departmental senior team to provide leadership and direction to — and develop growth opportunities for — publicity staff. Oversee publicity activities for programming from Warner Horizon Scripted Television, working closely with publicity team assigned to these series. Contribute to managing activities of department under direction of SVP. Develop new strategies and refine processes to department benefit.
- HSTV and International Television Oversight: Oversee consumer publicity activities for programming from Horizon Television, working closely with the publicity team assigned to those series. Oversee efforts of International Television publicity team, including U.S. set visits, international talent tours, press junkets, etc.
- Consumer Publicity: Develop innovative publicity opportunities for programming aimed at driving consistent, high-value consumer press attention for ongoing and priority series, including brainstorming new initiatives and devising strategies to capitalize on existing assets (stunt casting, series storylines, etc.).
- Implement processes to ensure continued strategic communication among publicity team and to maximize collaboration in pursuing and executing opportunities. Spearhead the creation of new departmental initiatives and see them through to execution, as a result improving the day-to-day consumer effort across WBTVG divisions.

The Essentials
- Minimum 10 years entertainment publicity experience required.
- Previous experience in television and social media required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of entertainment industry required.
- Must have strong understanding of social media and be an active participant on leading platforms.
- Working knowledge of large-scale event production required.
- Previous experience supervising agency and/or in-house publicity staff preferred.
- College degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet required.
- Must be able to maintain a cheerful disposition in a fast-paced environment and during stressful times.
- Must be able and willing to take initiative and to problem solve as appropriate within the scope of responsibilities of this position.
