Detailed oriented position which performs professional work in a variety of general support for the Marketing Department, Sr. Marketing Manager and Director of Entertainment.
SUPERVISION:
Work is performed under general direction with questionable cases referred to the supervisor. Reports to the Sr. Marketing Manager and works closely with the Director of Entertainment.
PRIMARY DUTIES:Oversee and execute all creative and advertising activities within the Marketing Department to support the District, its facilities (Spokane Arena, First Interstate Center for the Arts, Spokane Convention Center, The Podium Powered by STCU and ONE Spokane Stadium) and events.Works closely with the Sr. Marketing Manager, Director of Entertainment, Director of Sales, and show promoters to create and manage marketing/sales campaigns.Primary point of contact for events and responsible for coordinating and disseminating event and marketing information with TicketsWest, show promoters, and internal staff.Works with the Sr. Marketing Manager to craft event-specific marketing plans and responsible to execute in full, including: Managing the show budget and receiving required approvals, Purchasing TV, OTT, Cable, Radio, Print, OOH advertising, Coordinating digital advertising efforts with the internal Marketing Team, Working with station partners and the Marketing Coordinators on promotions and added value marketing, Preparing thorough Marketing Settlement including all paid and added value marketing done to support the showHelps manage the annual Marketing Department budget by completing invoice coding, YTD tracking and reallocation of funds.Develop and edits content for internal and external audiences across multiple communication channels. Proofreads others' writing and offers suggestions for improvement, as needed.Develop communication strategy by creating, managing, and distributing news releases and other press advisories within the District, our business partners and external media organizations.Serves as the primary contact for District events and develops strong direct relationships with local media.Arranges Early Morning PR interview opportunities and serves as the venue representative during coverage to ensure a smooth run.Pitches print and radio interview opportunities to local media when available.Primary contact for emergency communication to the public - in some cases, during extended hours.Collaborates with the Event Management team to develop messaging for answering common Guest Services concerns across District venues.Collaborates with Director of Entertainment and Sr. Marketing Manager to assess audience needs and implement timely, relevant, and strategic marketing and communications materials.Ability to take art strategy from District Directors and Sr. Marketing Manager and execute marketing needs in an appropriate timeframe.Performs and coordinates promotional activities including, but not limited to, sales and promotions, special events, event activations (beer gardens, pre-parties, photo ops, enter-to-win contests) and related programs designed to attract groups and sponsors to our facilities.Coordinates all on-property designs, including, but not limited to, conceptualization, coordination and implementation of promotional posters and flyers, newsletters, OOH creative, indoor and outdoor signage, one-sheets, etc.Works closely with Graphic Designers to create print and electronic collateral to support our facilities and events.Works closely with Marketing Coordinators and Digital Marketing Specialist to drive marketing campaigns, enhance the artists' backstage experience, and create a better fan experience for our guests.Works closely with the Digital Signage Manager to ensure event rotations are up-to-date and any requested content is running the day of show.Works closely with the Sr. Marketing Manager and Premium Sales/Sponsorship Manager to support Group Sales efforts.Assists the Sr. Marketing Manager with brand management and enforcement.Manage Marketing Department using project management software (Asana), email and verbal communication. Responsible for leading weekly check-ins with multiple departments and co-workers to ensure everyone has the information and tools needed to complete their tasks.Complete annual employee evaluations of support staff.Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Four (4) year degree AND four (4) year experience in a position with a public assembly facility, or entertainment promotions agency with event experience required. Relevant experience can be substituted for educational requirements.Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, both written and oral.Considerable knowledge of and ability to plan, organize, and implement advertising, promotion, and publicity campaigns.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite and project management software required (Asana preferred). Ability to learn and utilize additional software programs required (Momentus, Prism FM, etc.).Proficient with print and electronic mediums, media buying, principles and practices of marketing and advertising.Ability to develop effective working relationships with media to facilitate publicity.Ability to analyze and solve complex management problems having non-standard solutions.Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced energetic atmosphere while meeting deadlines with a good overall attitude toward fellow employees and clientele.Must be flexible to adapt to changing procedures, systems, and event loads.Must be able to work independently, stay focused on overall current objectives and manage time appropriately.Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The position requires being outside in different weather conditions for some of the events.
SALARY AND STATUS:
Salary $64,000 - $96,000 Non-Exempt
