JOB DESCRIPTION - FULL TIME The Assistant Athletic Director of Communications, Creative, and Branding will lead the strategic vision and execution of all athletic communications, creative content, and brand identity for Oral Roberts University Athletics Department. This leadership position is responsible for enhancing the department's visibility, storytelling, and fan engagement through innovative communication strategies, content creation, and cohesive brand management across all media platforms. RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Communications Serve as the primary spokesperson and media liaison for Oral Roberts University Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to promote teams, student-athletes, coaches, and department initiatives Lead a team of sports information directors and content creators to ensure timely and accurate coverage of all athletic events Oversee production of media guides, press releases, game notes, and post-game recaps Creative and Digital Media
Lead the creative direction and visual identity of the department across all platforms (digital, print, social, video) Oversee graphic design, photography, and video to produce high-impact content for recruitment, marketing, and fan engagement Develop and implement digital storytelling strategies including features, documentaries, hype videos, and social media campaigns Branding and Identity
Uphold and evolve the visual and narrative brand identity of the Athletics Department in alignment with institutional standards Collaborate with external affairs, marketing, and licensing to ensure consistency in brand presentation Lead development of brand assets, templates, and style guides for internal and external use Leadership and Administration
Manage department personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation Develop and oversee the communications and creative services budget Collaborate with coaches, administrators, and external partners to promote key initiatives and events Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations regarding media and public communications REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design, or related field Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in athletic communications, creative services, or sports media Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred Skills & Competencies
Proven expertise in media relations, brand management, and digital strategy Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, CMS systems, and multimedia production tools Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Division I collegiate athletic department or professional sports environment Knowledge of NCAA rules and familiarity with collegiate athletic culture Strong network of media contacts in sports journalism
