**About Us:**
The Forum is a boutique design and commercial furniture vendor in Washington, DC, specializing in high-end residential and commercial interiors. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our discerning clientele.
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented **Interior Design Assistant** to support our design team in executing beautiful and functional spaces. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, and eager to grow in the field of interior design. This role requires a passion for design, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining great attention to detail. This is a hybrid position.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist lead designers with project development, from concept to installation.
- Source and organize materials, fabrics, finishes, and furniture.
- Prepare mood boards, design presentations, and client proposals.
- Coordinate vendor communication, orders, and deliveries.
- Conduct site visits, take measurements, and assist with installations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation.
- Research design trends, materials, and innovative solutions.
- Maintain sample library and showroom organization.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree or coursework in Interior Design or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in an interior design or related role (internships included).
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, CET, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and client service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of local showrooms, vendors, and suppliers is a plus.
- Access to a working car
