Responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics to market programs and services, and represent the brand and co-branding of Children’s of Alabama, Pediatric ENT Associates and UAB Department of Pediatrics and UAB Pediatric Surgery Programs. This includes marketing of programs, services and physicians, and enhancing the lines of communication between referring primary care practices statewide, Children’s-owned practices and other community-based physicians. This includes supporting those referral relationships, developing and disseminating information, and acting as a resource for internal and external communications and marketing. Provides supervision and management to assigned coordinators and contract personnel. Reports directly to the Chief Communication Officer/Director.Job Duties and Responsibilities- Manage, develop, plan and implement communication and marketing strategies and tactics needed for communicating with referring physicians from across the state.- Manage internal communication strategies and channels for Children’s of Alabama- Serves as part of the Strategic Communications management team to research, develop, plan and implement strategic marketing and communications plans in support of Children’s of Alabama and the UAB Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery Programs.- Work with Children’s/UAB Division/Program leaders to develop and implement communication and marketing plans supporting the overall strategic business goals of COA. Assist team in development of specific strategies to positively affect overall image, reputation and standings within the Southeast Region and Nationally, especially in relation to U.S. News & World Report rankings.- Facilitate marketing of new Pediatric Practice Solutions (PPS) physicians to appropriate communities and constituencies; Facilitate integration of community physicians into hospital-related committees, task forces, focus groups and other appropriate activities.- Manage and maintain referring physician databases to track referral patterns of referring physicians for targeting communications and marketing; Consult state (and other sources) secondary data to track market share and activities of competition.EducationBachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or similar required and master’s degree preferred.ExperienceTen or more years marketing experience required, preferably in healthcare marketing and communications. Experience with referral development within a healthcare environment or related service industry preferred. High level of interpersonal and communication skills and a strong business background necessary; experience working with physicians, research and healthcare market analysis preferred.Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge and experience of digital marketing activities and solutions preferred. Personal computer and software related to communications production.
