GENERAL DESCRIPTION Manage, maintain, plan, and implement all communications, marketing, and sponsorship of exhibits, programs and fundraisers offered at the California Automobile Museum (CAM). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION The Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator develops content and distributes all outgoing communications both in print and digital formats for exhibits, outreach, programs, and special events of CAM. This position will have primary responsibility for the website, social media, and printed materials that promote, engage, and activate our key audiences with our Museum and programs. This position will also be responsible for cultivating and acquiring sponsors for exhibits, events, and programs. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain annual marketing plan and content calendar within Marketing budget Develop the social marketing strategy, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, blogging, newsletters, and emails Manage the museum’s Membership program including printing and mailing cards and letters, as well as updating the Excel spreadsheet, POS system and PastPerfect database Implement integrated marketing campaigns and communications, including sponsorship packages soliciting monetary and in-kind sponsorships, incorporating creative sponsor benefits Develop the necessary tools for measuring and reporting marketing effectiveness and find marketing opportunities by researching and analyzing market and sales data Write, edit, and produce complex printed materials and graphics such as brochures, flyers, mailers, advertisements, newsletters, and press releases Develop and manage website content and marketing using Wix Create and send emails regularly via Constant Contact Schedule media-related interviews, meetings and tours Act as “sponsor liaison” to provide excellent communications and customer service to sponsors Act as “brand ambassador” ensuring proper and consistent use of logos and other graphic elements Maintain promotional materials by monitoring and re-ordering inventory; keeping information current Photograph and document the collection, events, and exhibits Maintain communication with museum exhibitors and ensure on-time payment of related fees Write monthly articles for the “Museum Corner” section of Cruisin’ News newspaper Assist the Car Sales department with photography and car flyers Possess outstanding diplomatic and interpersonal skills to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, Board, volunteers, patrons/clients, sponsors and members of the community Identify and build relationships with industry influencers, associations, organizations, etc., that will be vital to the marketing efforts Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations Assist with miscellaneous tech support Occasional front desk coverage EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, public relations, communications preferred. Knowledge and Experience Have an excellent understanding of principles and practices of planning and organizing marketing programs, including partner marketing and development of marketing collateral. Experience working as a marketing manager or project account executive preferred. Experience working in a museum or entertainment/educational environment preferred. Skills and Abilities Excellent attention to detail Ability to interact with all levels of the Museum on a daily basis, from management to volunteers Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills Ability to work alone or within a group Proactive and take initiative when required and have the ability to think on their own Ability to multi-task Advanced Windows skills, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to meet established time frames Ability to work under pressure High standard of work ethic, honesty, integrity, loyalty, and dedication Reports to:
Executive Director Salary:
$27-30/hour, Full-time, Tues-Sat preferred schedule Benefits:
