Job Title:
Associate Technical Designer
The Associate Technical Designer participates in fit sessions and works with the Product Development team to achieve desired garment fit. Measures and evaluates samples to ensure vendors meet brand fit specifications. Communicates the pattern and fit changes to vendors and maintains the garments specification database. Responsible for managing quality assurance throughout the product life cycle to meet Christopher & Banks quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitates fit sessions and works with the Product Managers to achieve desired garment fit and aestheticEnsures consistent fit for assigned product categoriesMeasures and evaluates samples to ensure vendors meet company fit specifications and construction standardsEnsure grading of each style is correct and follows the company’s standardsEvaluate samples on fit model and/or dress form to ensure proper maintaining the brands fitAnticipate and participate in resolution of pre-production and production problems while in the fit processManage quality standards in collaboration with the internal and external business partners to ensure the policies and requirements are followed, providing technical expertise where neededHold vendors accountable to minimum construction standards established for brandCommunicates the pattern and fit changes to vendors and maintains the garment specifications databaseCollaborates with Product Development team to ensure development sample requests are sent to vendors with correct specification requestsCommunicate professionally in a clear, accurate, and timely manner with all partnersHave a can-do attitude with a high-level of collaboration with internal partners to drive resultsOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Textiles, or related field or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years of Technical Design experience in the woman’s apparel industryDemonstrate knowledge of pattern development and sewing processes as they pertain to garment production and labor constraintsThorough understanding of fit as it relates to pattern changesStrong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining quality standardsKnowledge of supply chain and global business process orientation, including knowledge of textile and apparel development, manufacturing, and performanceStrong understanding of quality assurance testing protocols and industry standards for lab tests and ability to make judgments and risk assessments based on the test and fabric specificationsAbility to handle complex troubleshooting with regards to textile performance and manufacturing issues and provide effective direction to factoriesProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteProficient with drawing toolsKnowledge of Product Lifecycle Management softwareIn order to ensure service levels, it is essential that the individual in this role be able to work a regular and reliable schedule as provided by management.It is essential that the duties of this role be performed on-site at IVMedia’s facility.The duties of this role require frequent travel, including by air, up to 20%
