Responsibilities and Duties: Provide edits and rewrites on documents for grammatical, syntactical, and usage errors, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to standards. Proofread documentation and graphics for accuracy and adherence to original content; provide quality control checking for documents received. Assemble master copies, including graphics, appendices, table of contents, and title pages. Assist in document tracking and logging, and consult with technical staff to determine format, contents, and the organization of technical reports and proposals. Assist in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports. Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user's manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents. Produce and manipulate graphics and visuals for informative and instructional material, including formatting/editing/writing a variety of technical articles, reports, and/or manuals for a wide range of uses. The Technical Writer will assist in documenting the progression and the implementation of comprehensive diagraming and mapping of workflows and processes. Maintain, organize, and update Microsoft Planner and SharePoint documentation repositories tracking file versions, electronic formats, reports and presentations. Leverage tools like Visio or MS Publisher to illustrate and document deliverables requiring visual representation. Track, maintain and communicate weekly, monthly and quarterly statistics as required by the government. Skills/Experience/Certifications: Minimum of 2 years’ experience with information technology, security and some cyber security concepts like cloud security, network security, confidentiality, and vulnerabilities. DoD 8570 IAT II certification (equal to Security+) or better. Successfully pass an NACLC background investigation. Broad understanding of information technology and techniques including computer languages, design concepts, test methods, and integration practices. Basic understanding of RMF practices around cyber security. Detail oriented as it relates to processes flows, organization and methodologies. Competent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to present material to senior DoD and non-DoD officials. Able to communicate effectively with senior leaders and customers to clearly present documented approaches and findings. Four (4) years supporting IT programs or systems. Experience with the following programs: MS Suite; Word; Excel; Access; MS Project; Power Point; Adobe Creative Suite; Visio. Familiarity with FISMA & NIST audits: identify, protect, detect, respond, recover.
