Overview
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter for their office near Fort Edward, NY. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work closely with both sales and manufacturing teams to develop submittal and shop drawings. Our client also offers an excellent benefits package! Responsibilities of the Mechanical Designer/Drafter:
* Develop and maintain layouts, cut sheets, and designs for steel and aluminum gate products.
* Prepare drawings from photos, detailed notes, and product specifications for both the sales and manufacturing departments.
* Generate manufacturing bills of material (BOMs) and convert sales orders into manufacturing work orders using ERP software.
* Recommend design modifications to improve product functionality or simplify the manufacturing process.
* Update and modify drawings based on Engineering Change Notices submitted by manufacturing.
* Additional responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications of the Mechanical Designer/Drafter:
* Associate's degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design or equivalent work experience.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with document management systems.
* Manufacturing and steel/aluminum fabrication experience preferred, but not required.
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $24.00 to $28.00 per hour.
