We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Designer in Plumbing Systems to join our growing team. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of challenging and innovative projects, from commercial and residential buildings to infrastructure and industrial facilities. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective plumbing solutions that meet our clients' needs and comply with all relevant building codes and regulations. Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of plumbing systems for a wide range of construction projects, from initial concept through to final installation and testing. Analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to ensure that designs meet all project requirements and comply with all relevant building codes and regulations. Prepare detailed cost estimates and construction bids, and manage budgets to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within cost constraints. Collaborate closely with other members of the design team, including architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers, to develop integrated solutions that meet clients' needs. Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers and other team members, and review their work to ensure that it meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Keep up to date with the latest developments in plumbing design and construction, including new materials, technologies, and design techniques, and apply this knowledge to your work. Participate in professional development activities, such as attending conferences and workshops, to enhance your skills and stay current with industry trends.
Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of experience in plumbing design, with a focus on commercial construction. Licensed journeyman plumber, with a solid understanding of plumbing systems and principles. Proficient in blueprint reading and schematics, with the ability to interpret complex technical documents. Strong knowledge of construction costs and budgeting, with the ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and manage budgets effectively. Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations, and the ability to ensure that designs comply with these requirements. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel, with the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings and manage complex data. Experience with ASHRAE, LEED, ASPE, HDPF, CPMP, and CPD standards and certifications. Knowledge of fire protection systems would be an advantage. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and communicate complex technical information clearly and accurately. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to complex design challenges. Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
