Overview
The Judge Kathryn J. DuFour Law Library at The Catholic University of America School of Law is seeking applicants for the position of Systems and Electronic Resources Librarian. This position is ideal for an experienced librarian who is ready for new challenges while working within a collaborative and collegial team. The successful candidate will actively support core library operations by managing the Law Library’s integrated library system and discovery catalog, maintaining the Library’s databases and electronic resources, and addressing the evolving technology needs of the Library’s staff. The Judge Kathryn J. DuFour Law Library is located on the campus of The Catholic University of America, the largest university campus in the District of Columbia, and a short Metro ride to downtown D.C. and Capitol Hill. The campus is ideally situated in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, D.C., one of the most vibrant and exciting communities in the city.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate library staff use of the Library’s integrated library system and discovery catalog including seeking solutions to problems and consulting on staff training needs.
- Configure and manage access to electronic resources in the Library’s integrated library system and discovery catalog by activating electronic resources, maintaining load profiles, managing import of bibliographic records, and troubleshooting access and authentication issues experienced by Law Library users.
- Troubleshoot library staff technology issues and address future technology needs. This includes staying current on emerging trends and technologies, most namely enhancements to the Library’s integrated library system, as well as serving as a technical liaison with various system vendors and other University departments.
- Administer and maintain third-party integrations to the Library’s integrated library system including OpenAthens, OCLC’s WorldShare Collection/Record Manager, and any future integrations with other systems.
- Support the Library’s statistical reporting obligations by developing expertise in reporting functions of the Library’s integrated library system.
- Participate in relevant Law Library and library consortia committees, task forces, and projects.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a law or academic library; a combination of professional and significant paraprofessional experience may be considered for this requirement.
- Substantial experience using an integrated library system such as Ex Libris’ Alma.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic resources management, including batch loading.
- Experience with the cataloging process and relevant tools such as OCLC’s WorldShare Collection/Record Manager, and MarcEdit.
