As a Benefit Specialist 3 Lead with the Sharedwork unit, professional lead participation in the Shared Work program will support economic security through business preservation and job retention by providing technical, training, and operational support to the Shared Work Program staff. This professional position will assist, support, and promote the Shared Work Program through employer orientations and business presentations. You will support Employment Security's mission and vision of providing workers equitable access to programs that contribute to economic security by supporting staff through coaching, mentoring, and providing technical assistance to ensure timely, accurate benefits for both the employer and claimant. This is a
full-time/non-permanent
position that is primarily telework but may need to go into the office for occasional meetings or events and is
anticipated to last up to one year .
NOTE:
This opportunity is available only to current Internal Employment Security Department employees.
You will assist with training, orienting, directing, and coordinating the work of Shared Work Unemployment Insurance Benefit Specialists. Directing staff when workload assignments need to be adjusted. Providing guidance to Benefit Specialists on difficult, complex, or unusual cases and providing technical support and policy/procedure clarification and consultation on various types of initial claims, continued claims, adjudication, and employer/participant determinations.
Some of what you will do:
Respond to inquiries from claimants, employers and/or 3rd parties. Analyze written and oral information to guide UI Benefits employees in completion of intake related work, Shared Work employer plan and claimant eligibility determinations and adjudication. Research, investigate, and interpret unemployment insurance laws to determine and resolve Shared Work claimant benefit claims and adjudication issues. Perform lead accountability by assigning and reviewing work for accuracy and compliance within laws and rules. Provide Shared Work program training and coaching to one or more Shared Work team members. Review work of Benefit Specialists to ensure accuracy and conformance to laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standard work. Ensure the work of Benefit Specialists meets the timeframes and deadlines set by program requirements. Audit Shared Work unemployment insurance work to detect discrepancies and clarify data through inquiries, correspondence, and interviews.

One (1) year experience as a previous UI Specialist 4 or an Employment Security Benefits Specialist Intake Lead Worker for a UI Program. OR
One (1) year experience as a previous Employment Security Program Coordinator 2 Lead Worker for a UI Program.
