Catholic Music Director – $50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience – Aurora, CO 80011
The Role
Do you have experience leading music in a Catholic church setting? Can you play, sing, and direct a choir to enhance worship services? We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Music Director to lead and coordinate the music ministry for our Catholic Worship Community.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, rehearsing, and performing music for regular and special liturgies. You will collaborate with the Catholic Priest to ensure that all music aligns with the liturgical calendar and enhances the worship experience.

This is a part-time, contract 1099 vacancy.
Contract= 5 years, 45 Hours per week.
Please note: any qualified candidates selected for an interview will be asked to provide applicable supporting documents, i.e. photocopies of degree(s) or transcripts, copies of certifications, ordination certificates, etc.
Position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead music for weekly Mass, rehearsals, and special services.
- Organize and direct the choir, ensuring high-quality performances.
- Select and prepare appropriate liturgical music in coordination with the Catholic Priest.
- Play an instrument (piano, keyboard, or guitar) to support worship.
- Ensure the sound equipment is set up and functioning correctly.
- Maintain and return all church-owned music and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with copyright regulations for music materials.
- Attend meetings as required by the Catholic Priest.
- Provide a temporary replacement when absent.
The Person
- At least two years of experience in a church music role or equivalent education.
- Ability to sing and lead a congregation in worship.
- Skilled in sight-reading, improvisation, and playing a musical instrument.
- Experience in directing a choir.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Comfortable using and troubleshooting sound systems.
- Able to build positive relationships with clergy, volunteers, and church staff.
