How You'll Make An Impact
The Director, Creative Services Center of Excellence (CoE) will lead the centralized, shared services team that develops and creates a full suite of marketing assets for use across the global organization. This leader will have direct experience managing and developing best-in-class marketing functions including graphic design (print, digital, events, reports and presentation assets), email marketing campaigns and website management—with a keen eye toward sophisticated design and attention on success metrics and measurement. Our Creative Services Center of Excellence will provide critical support for our global marketing and communications initiatives, partnering closely with functional leaders with expertise in corporate communications, demand generation and product marketing.
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to drive brand awareness, demand generation, and global stakeholder engagement. Our new leader will be very familiar with global product launch protocols, sales enablement tools creation and third-party agency management—and possess the entrepreneurial spirit to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Closely manage the USGBC and GBCI brands—look, feel and presentation style—across assets globally. Lead a team that produces marcom assets (print, digital, email, campaigns, writing, brand management, look/feel, etc.) that support sales enablement efforts, brand acceleration and reputation management globally for USGBC and GBCI. Establish and define best practices, guidelines, and quality benchmarks for specific marketing functions within the CoE's area of focus. Build, inspire and manage a team of talented individual contributors with expertise in graphic design, UX, web development, web design, email marketing, positioning and content development. Provide ongoing training and coaching to team members to ensure consistent application of best practices. Facilitate knowledge transfer across the organization through education sessions, documentation, and internal communication channels. Partner successfully across the marketing organization to identify their specific needs and tailor CoE support accordingly. Track key metrics and ROI to evaluate the effectiveness of CoE initiatives and identify areas for improvement. Pilot new marketing strategies and technologies within the CoE to create best-in-class efficiency, performance and execution.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus—ideally with formal education in the design or digital space. Minimum of 8 years of marketing experience, including a minimum of 4 years of experience in a global leadership role managing a team of design and digital professionals. Current client-side leadership experience in a global products organization with a minimum of $75M in revenues, preferably in the green building, commercial real estate, sustainability or renewables sectors. Experience working with design and web tools in addition to the martech stack (e.g., Pardot, Salesforce). Proven experience in developing and implementing effective best marketing practices, tools, and strategies. Examples of marketing campaigns, collateral and assets that have directly resulted in revenue generation. Experience identifying, developing, and managing freelance and marketing agency resources on a global scale. Functional marketing expertise: Digital marketing: Managing best practices for SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing, and website optimization. Content marketing: Developing content strategy, editorial guidelines, and content creation processes. Customer experience: Leading initiatives to enhance customer interactions across all touchpoints. Marketing analytics: Implementing data-driven insights and reporting to inform marketing decision-making. Leadership experience: Experience recruiting, inspiring and managing strong marketing teams Demonstrated commitment to setting and achieving goals and metrics Strong collaboration skills Outstanding communications skills
