Role Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Elementary Media Teacher who is passionate about empowering young learners through media literacy and production. This role involves developing and delivering creative lesson plans that integrate media concepts into core subjects. The ideal candidate will guide students as they analyze current events, produce media content that meets industry standards, and engage in creative storytelling that supports their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities Develop and implement creative lesson plans that integrate media literacy, digital storytelling, and production techniques with core curriculum subjects. Teach students to analyze, create, and critique media content using current events and major topics relevant to their lives. Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment conducive to learning and creative exploration. Provide individualized and small-group instructional support, offering constructive feedback to help students refine their media projects. Collaborate with fellow educators to incorporate media projects into interdisciplinary lessons. Maintain and set up necessary media equipment and resources for classroom activities. Monitor students' academic and social-emotional progress, addressing their needs and supporting their growth in media literacy. Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives that enhance media arts education. Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Media, Communications, or a related field; teacher certification is a plus. Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students and creating media productions. Strong classroom management skills with a commitment to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment. Excellent communication, organization, and lesson planning abilities. Passion for media literacy, digital storytelling, and innovative educational practices.
