High end event design company is hiring a talented Events Design Coordinator to join their in-house design studio. Under the direction of a Design Director, the Event Design Coordinator implements all aspects of the creative process including the design development and execution of on-brand, innovative events. In this role you will develop the event and tradeshow design, specifically in details such as composition and integration of multi-faceted components i.e. color, sound, lighting, dcor, and any other relevant attributes of the creative planning process.
Ideally looking for a recent grad with only 1-2 years of experience who has designed for events, experiential, and interior spaces. A portfolio that demonstrates event design or interior design ideas is preferred. Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite with Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. This is a full remote role however candidates must be local to the Boston area to perform site visits to all selected sites for assigned client events. Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends
Under the direction of a Design Director, the Associate Designer implements all aspects of the creative process including the design development and execution of on-brand, innovative events. This position is a pivotal and key aspect of a fast paced, demand driven and growth-oriented organization, providing a unique experiential service to a diverse range of organizational and high net worth individual clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the oversight of the Design Director, develops the event design, specifically in details such as composition and integration of multi-faceted components i.e. color, sound, lighting, dcor, and any other relevant attributes of the creative planning process
May meet with clients to gain an understanding of their expectations and the scope of the event
Presents and promotes event design to clients, when appropriate
Ensures designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications, standards and budgets
In tandem with an Event Producer, performs site visits to all selected sites for assigned client events
Participates in calls and provides design input with outside suppliers
Offers design direction for floor plans and renderings
Provides content for design presentations and participates in presentation
In collaboration with a Designer/Design Director, provides design direction and communicates details of production to event teams and vendors, to ensure product implementation is executed at the highest level
Provides ballpark pricing to internal teams for recommended rental, linen and dcor items
Supported by a Designer/Design Director, reviews and approves floral sample photos and stationery proofs
Collaborates closely with event teams and vendors, communicating all relevant event design changes or modifications through to final production detail including set-up, rehearsal, event production and post event activities with all staff in the creation and finalization of the event plan
Consistently deliver on brand, elevated design concepts, while adhering to established budgets and production timelines
Supports direction of lighting look for Design Presentations and participates in Design Presentation setup
Working with the Inventory and Production groups, supports creative specialty builds and communicates all information and a plan for execution to the internal Production team
Contribute to and further develop a catalog system for dcor and props in inventory; creates a system to track ideas or elements for the Design Department such as existing and new venues and entertainment, lighting ideas and concepts, tear sheets showing interesting dcor and floral, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree
1-2 years max of experience in the creative field
Exceptional presentation skills coupled with sales acumen to promote the company Class A brand standards and its services
Attention to detail, critical thinking, creative ability, and willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve the project objective
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure
Flexibility to change and adapt to considerable variety in the workplace
Ability to travel (approximately 25%)
