Position Overview
The Technical Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating audiovisual systems for live events, ensuring client satisfaction. This role reports to a Project Manager, Operations Manager, or Director of Event Technology.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Ensure flawless event execution through setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment, troubleshoot issues, comply with safety measures, and secure equipment.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service, communicate effectively with clients, and collaborate with the team to meet client needs.
- Training/Staff Development: Foster technical and leadership skills, mentor team members.
- Event Supervision: Perform pre/during/post event tasks, supervise technicians.
- Equipment Maintenance: Manage equipment security, storage, transportation, inventory, and needs forecasting.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Encore Technical Level 3 Certification required; new employees must be certified within 30 days.
- Two Encore Technical Level Two Core Certifications (Audio, Lighting, Projection, Video, Scenic); certification within 60 days.
- 4+ years of field experience in audiovisual specialty area.
- Customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- Professional interaction skills and project management experience.
- Valid driver’s license required; additional DOT requirements may apply.

Work Environment
Hotel/convention center setting, moderate outdoor exposure, varied noise levels, use of high-end audiovisual equipment, exposure to heights, irregular hours, on-call, including weekends and holidays. Adherence to appearance guidelines required.
Additional Details
Hourly pay range: $26.36 - $33.36, based on qualifications and location. Benefits and inclusivity initiatives are provided by Encore.
