First Environment, Inc.—an environmental engineering and consulting company that provides strategic environmental and engineering services throughout the U.S.—is seeking a Communications Manager for our Butler, NJ office. This position will be responsible for overseeing corporate communications initiatives across the firm and working collaboratively with First Environment's Market Area Directors. This position will be hybrid requiring three days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing campaigns in support of strategic goals for each of First Environment's technical market areas
Manage development and ongoing implementation and education of corporate brand
Direct development of initiatives and thought leadership content for collateral materials, website, blogs, media, print, video, etc. based on strategies outlined in marketing plan
Work collaboratively with in-house technical team to develop and maintain project case studies and past performance narrative, employee spotlights, and other content
Maintain internal communications program to facilitate information sharing within the firm, as well as to inform and involve principals and technical staff regarding marketing efforts
Oversee digital media and social media initiatives, including website, blogs, video, educations materials, etc.
Identify key media outlets and maintain list of editorial contacts and publications
Coordinate award program submissions
Oversee coordination of special events planning
Manage and attend trade show and special event planning, execution, and follow-up, including prioritizing industry events based on strategic goals
Manage quality control for all communications materials
Direct selection and implementation of marketing vendors and consultants to support communications initiatives, such as advertising, videography, or graphic design firms
Conduct marketing communications workshops/training for principals and technical staff
Work collaboratively with First Environment's Proposal Manager to direct, train, and mentor a shared pool of marketing and communications support staff
Travel
This position is primarily hybrid requiring three days per week in First Environment's Butler, NJ office
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or related field and 5+ years of marketing experience in environmental/engineering professional services industry recommended
Without a degree, 7+ years of relevant engineering and environmental consulting industry experience recommended
Capabilities / Qualifications
Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing communications campaigns across multiple platforms and tracking performance metrics
Strong understanding of engineering and/or environmental consulting terminology and delivery methods
Leadership/managerial and mentoring skills
Expert time-management and organizational skills
Professional demeanor that enables the person to interact with the highest levels both inside and outside the firm
Able to see the big picture and delegate to achieve objectives
Salary Range
$75,000 - $90,000
