Eurofins Environment Testing Northwest in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Technical Director. Role Overview The Technical Director serves as a key technical resource, researching, developing, and implementing new analytical methods, managing technical projects, and evaluating technologies. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing SOPs, training staff, performing sample analysis, troubleshooting instruments, and ensuring laboratory standards and safety protocols are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Resolve technical issues, troubleshoot instruments, and modify methods to meet client needs. Perform sample analyses, data documentation, and final review. Maintain and repair analytical instruments to minimize downtime. Consult with clients, regulators, and team members on technical matters. Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Develop and update department SOPs and best practices. Evaluate new technologies and methodologies for laboratory application. Conduct non-routine analyses to support business development and client needs. Manage technical projects and prepare reports for management. Train and mentor laboratory staff and associates. Assist in health and safety protocol development. Coordinate with project managers and sales teams on analytical capabilities. Investigate client and departmental issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Contribute to decisions on equipment purchases and capital investments. Perform other technical and business tasks as assigned. Qualifications BS/BA in Chemistry or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory; supervisory experience preferred. This is a full-time, salaried position, Monday to Friday, with additional hours and weekends as needed. Compensation ranges from $78,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional Information Eurofins supports career development and values diversity.
