Video Production Specialist
The Video Production Specialist is responsible for producing, shooting, editing, and coordinating video and audio content to support the ministries of Roswell UMC. This role also assists with video production for the Sunday morning services, live events, and special church activities, ensuring high-quality multimedia content that enhances the worship experience and church outreach. This position also assists the Audio/Visual staff with special requests.
Responsibilities:
- Video Production: Produce, shoot, and edit video content for field and studio production environments. This includes setting up lighting and microphones, capturing video and audio, editing footage, and ensuring a polished final product.
- Scriptwriting & Storyboarding: Write scripts, create storyboards, and plan video shoots to support church messaging and ministry goals.
- Live Video Production: Assist with church service video production in a live production environment (camera, audio, graphics, etc), including pre-production and post-production.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and unplanned maintenance on video and audio equipment to ensure all systems are in working order.
- Installation Support: Assist with basic installation and setup of video, audio, and lighting equipment as needed.
- Inventory Management: Help maintain an organized inventory of video production and A/V assets, tracking equipment usage and recommending updates or replacements as necessary.
- A/V Coordination: Assist A/V staff with set up and operation of gear for events.
- Volunteer Training & Support: Train and support volunteers, assist with scheduling, and provide guidance on equipment usage and production tasks.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the church.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of professional video production experience with advanced understanding of video cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and other production technology.
- Advanced knowledge of video editing and motion graphics software, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Working knowledge of basic A/V components, infrastructure, and standards.
- General knowledge of live event audio mixing, including familiarity with mixing consoles and sound equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure and quickly resolve problems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, volunteers, and church members, including those with limited technical knowledge.
- Ability to make quick, effective decisions in fast-paced environments while maintaining high production standards.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative, positive working environment.
- Flexibility and availability for Sunday morning services and occasional special services and events.
- A passion for ministry and a heart for serving the church community.
- Familiarity with church culture is a plus.
Compensation: This is a full-time (30-35 hours/week), non-exempt, hourly position with benefits. $20-$25/hour.
Schedule: Sundays through Thursdays as well as availability for occasional special services/events.
