Position Hours : Up to 2 hours a week at $90 per hour

Position Mission:
The role of the Instrumental Music Drumline Instructor is to provide administrative expertise and leadership to the instrumental drumline music program for Texas ACE. This position will require the employee to assume responsibility for the coordination and supervision of an enrichment music club for all students in a manner consistent with Board Policy and consistent with statutes and standards of regulatory agencies.
Position Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification Bachelor of Music Education Texas Teacher certification in All-level Music, and Five (5) years of experience or more as a band director or band director assistant. Master's Degree (preferred)
Special Knowledge Skills:
Basic computer and software knowledge Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Excellent communication, organizational, time management and leadership skills Ability to work in a team setting with a positive attitude Ability to oversee and supervise various educational and recreational projects Ability to read instructions and implement activities
Experience:
Experience working with 'at risk' youth Experience working in a non-profit organization (preferred)
Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Management: Administer the activities of the instrumental music programs and present demonstration lessons along with exposing students to a musician profession. Coordinate, plan and implement with the Texas ACE campus Site Coordinator regarding educational and enrichment activities with program partners for all Texas ACE Afterschool events School/Organizational Climate: Acts as an advisor for instrumental music program for Texas ACE and advises Site Coordinator about the program. School/Organizational Improvement: Coordinates and supervises the instrumental music program, serves as a consultant for the Site Coordinator on the needs of the music program within Texas ACE. Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management: Arranges maintenance and repair, recommends expenditures for supplies and equipment. Student management: Plans, organizes, and directs various activities and arranges and organizes the Texas ACE music program. School/Community Relations: Demonstrates cooperativeness and flexibility in working with the school and community, and displays initiative in working with institutions of higher education and music organizations. Professional Growth Development: Attends training or debriefs required by the Site Coordinator.. Communicate with Texas ACE Site Coordinator regarding specific Texas ACE Afterschool program operations/needs. Ensure upkeep of Texas ACE Afterschool program property and equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of how to utilize all afterschool property and equipment. Work closely with Texas ACE Site Coordinator to retain organized and accurate records and assist in record maintenance as instructed. Attend required meetings, training and other events as instructed. Implement safety and discipline guidelines. Maintain a working knowledge of Jubilee Academies policies and procedures.
