Wagner College, a Division I member of the Northeast Conference, is seeking qualified candidates for the positions of broadcast coordinator and media relations SID graduate assistant. The broadcast coordinator is responsible for managing the technical and logistical aspects of live streaming, production, and distribution of athletic events, primarily through NEC Front Row. The SID candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the Wagner Media Relations staff in the management of rosters, schedules, statistics, and stories for Wagner Athletics programs, and will assist in the creation of media content. Both positions report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations.
Broadcast Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce live broadcasts for Wagner College athletic events, including the setup, execution, and breakdown of live streams for home games across various sports.
- Operate broadcast equipment (cameras, microphones, graphics, etc.) to ensure high-quality production.
- Collaborate with the media relations team, on-air talent (play-by-play announcers and color commentators), camera operators, and technical staff to ensure smooth broadcast operations.
- Schedule and assign roles for broadcast crew to ensure adequate staffing for each live event.
- Provide training and oversight to student workers or staff involved in live production and broadcasting.
- Work with the Northeast Conference to ensure compliance with NEC Front Row guidelines (sponsors, logistics, setup).
- Ensure all broadcasts are recorded, archived, and available for on-demand viewing via NEC Front Row, Wagner College’s website, and other platforms.
- Keep in contact with Northeast Conference officials to submit weekly clips from Wagner home games as well as submitting feature videos for NEC-wide promotional videos to be played on NEC Front Row.
- Serve as the point of contact for replay hardware and software at all football and basketball home games. Coordinate with replay officials and replay technical support to maintain and improve replay capabilities.
- For nationally televised and NEC tournament contests on Wagner’s campus, work as a liaison to visiting production crews and staff.
- Collaborate with the media relations team to create highlight packages, promotional videos, in-arena entertainment materials, and other content.
- Assist with other media or production-related tasks as directed by the athletics department.
Qualifications:
- This is a two-year graduate assistant position.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, media production, sport management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Acceptance into Wagner College’s graduate programs is required.
- Previous experience in sports broadcasting, live event production, or media operations.
- Familiarity with broadcast equipment (cameras, audio systems, switchers) and live-streaming software (e.g., Production Truck, OBS Studio, Wirecast, vMix).
- Experience with the Adobe Suite programs, specifically Premiere, is preferred.
Media Relations SID
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary media relations contact for assigned sports (Sports – TBD).
- Write previews, recaps, and personal interest stories for wagnerathletics.com.
- Assist in the creation and management of all Wagner Athletics media.
- Utilize social media platforms to enhance the reach of content and engagement.
Qualifications:
- This is a two-year graduate assistant position.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, media production, sport management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Acceptance into Wagner College’s graduate programs is required.
- Previous experience in college or professional sports information, journalism, social media, photography or graphic design is preferred.
- Experience with the Adobe Suite, Sidearm, NCAA Live Stats, and Presto is preferred.
- Must have an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
Compensation For Each Position:
-Graduate school free tuition, free on-campus housing, meal plan.
