KSBW 8 (NBC) / Central Coast ABC / Estrella TV Costa Central, part of Hearst Television, in Salinas, CA, is looking for an Executive Producer to oversee fast-paced newscasts in a dynamic news market. We seek a driven, organized leader capable of articulating a vision for their shows and leading a team towards that vision. The ideal candidate can develop multi-platform content that succeeds on air, on mobile, and on social media.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach, and motivate a team of producers, reporters, anchors, and photojournalists committed to excellence.
- Oversee the preparation of rundowns and scripts for newscasts.
- Supervise the use of graphics resources to enhance presentation.
- Respond to breaking news and oversee digital and social media responses.
- Write compelling news stories in active voice.
- Gather news and produce/broadcast newscasts as needed.
- Post stories and videos across digital platforms.
- Perform administrative duties including scheduling, performance reviews, training, and providing feedback.
- Communicate effectively with news staff, promotions, and engineering teams.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years producing experience.
- Proven experience in writing and visual storytelling.
- Strong understanding of audience desires.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple crews and responsibilities.
- Ability to summarize information clearly.
- Creative presentation style and resource utilization.
- High journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere is a plus.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Military training and experience will be considered.
- In-person attendance required.

The estimated salary range for this role is $70,000 to $78,000, dependent on experience, skills, and location. Salary offers may vary and are subject to change.
