Job Description Summary:
The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and coordinating multiple marketing initiatives to ensure successful project execution. This position helps manage project timelines, supports website content updates, and assists in maintaining branded materials and tools. The Marketing Coordinator will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure that marketing efforts align with Samuel Merritt University’s brand standards and strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Support
Assist in maintaining and updating project schedules to support the timely execution of marketing initiatives.
Communicate project timelines and updates to relevant stakeholders.
Conduct quality checks to ensure deliverables meet branding and quality standards.
Support the creation and delivery of collateral materials for recruitment and promotional purposes.
Help organize and maintain departmental assets.
Website Content Updates
Coordinate updates to website content, including editing and creating pages for programs, events, and initiatives.
Collaborate with program directors to ensure content accuracy and alignment with university messaging.
Support creative vendors in implementing web-based projects and updates.
Software and Tools Support
Assist in managing software tools such as Canto, Canva, Bitly, Mailchimp, and Monday.com.
Provide team support and basic training on the use of these platforms.
Merchandise Branding Assistance
Collaborate with the University Bookstore to ensure branded merchandise adheres to SMU’s guidelines.
Support in the review merchandise designs to maintain consistency with the university’s identity.
Team Collaboration
Partner with various departments to support marketing and branding needs, including recruitment campaigns, events, and special projects.
Assist in coordinating marketing efforts for new programs, initiatives, and university events.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in marketing coordination, web content management, or digital communications.
Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) and web editing tools.
Basic knowledge of tools like Canva, Mailchimp, Bitly, and project management software.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education marketing or communications.
Knowledge of web design principles and basic HTML.
Familiarity with SEO best practices.

Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions on job advertisements in the United States based on local requirements. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills.
