Description
The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for providing support for the Marketing/Communications team. Working closely with the Creative Services Coordinator, the intern will also assist in creating and printing materials for our 20-branch library system.
The Graphic Design Internship is a 12-week paid temporary assignment with a pay rate of $12.50 per hour for 15-20 hours per week. This is an in-person position with flexible hours between 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting the department with creating and designing print and digital materials.
- Assisting in copy center services and project management.
- Gaining meaningful graphic design and non-profit experience
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in basic design programs including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) is required.
- Ability to understand, implement and follow brand guidelines.
- Must be detail-oriented, and able to complete tasks within tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate well with others and work in collaboration.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be currently in pursuit of an associates or bachelors degree in Graphic Design or a closely related field (Marketing, Commercial Arts, Public Relations, etc.)
Additional Information
- Generally will work within a normal office environment, with minimal discomfort due to extreme temperatures, dust, and noise.
- Frequent sitting/standing in one position for extended periods of time.
