We are seeking a Cybersecurity Communications Specialist to develop and deliver clear, engaging cybersecurity awareness content for diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical writing, cybersecurity risk communication, and content development for security awareness programs. This role is remote, but preference will be given to candidates based in North Carolina. Key Responsibilities: Create cybersecurity awareness materials, including newsletters, bulletins, and presentations. Develop communication strategies to educate staff on cybersecurity risks, best practices, and policies. Collaborate with technical teams to translate complex cybersecurity concepts into accessible content. Manage cybersecurity awareness campaigns and monitor their effectiveness. Ensure messaging aligns with organizational security policies and compliance requirements. Maintain consistency in messaging across internal and external cybersecurity communications. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity communications, technical writing, or security awareness training. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Forms. Ability to craft clear, engaging, and informative content for both technical and non-technical audiences. Security+ or CISSP certification preferred. Additional Qualifications: Experience with cybersecurity compliance frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, or ISO 27001. Familiarity with social engineering threats and effective security awareness techniques. Strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience with digital content creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to leadership teams.
