Join our dynamic team as a Senior Proposal Writer. We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in traditional U.S. Government proposals, FEDSIM, and commercial bidding.
This role is part of the Strategy & Business Development's Capture Operations & Excellence Group, dedicated to driving our most strategic bids across Leidos. It's an exciting opportunity for proactive individuals wanting to make a significant impact and be recognized for their contributions. You will collaborate closely with Capture Executives, Solution Architects, and Technical and Management Volume Leads to create compelling work products that align with solicitation requirements. Your expertise will span across various Lines of Business, including Defense, Intelligence, Civil, and Health. A proven record of success in tackling large and complex bids is essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Solution Architects and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to document and articulate innovative solutions and corporate experiences that meet proposal requirements.
Lead the writing of compelling responses in technical, management, corporate experience, staffing, and transition sections, ensuring full compliance with RFP requirements.
Foster a collaborative environment to effectively communicate strategies, approaches, experiences, win themes, and differentiators.
Utilize strong communication and interviewing skills to gather necessary information from internal and external stakeholders.
Produce clear, compliant, and persuasive proposal sections, translating complex ideas into accessible content.
Initiate and implement process improvements aimed at enhancing proposal quality.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience, or 6 years with a master's degree.
At least 5 years of proposal writing experience specifically related to Federal Government solicitations.
Documented history of producing high-quality, competitive proposals with strong scores.
Successful experience in leading technical, management, transition, staffing, and corporate experience volumes for intricate proposals.
Outstanding writing and communication abilities.
Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
A strong work ethic and commitment to personal and professional growth.
U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the role.
The position is based in our Reston, VA headquarters, with the possibility of teleworking up to 25% during downtime between live proposals. Onsite presence is expected during proposal efforts. You may also be required to support the capture and proposal team at various locations within the Washington Metro Area during proposal efforts. Desired Qualifications: 8 years of experience in a competitive proposal environment, including 5 years of proposal writing for Federal Government solicitations and 2 years of FEDSIM capture support.
Familiarity with Federal Government and FEDSIM proposals.
Experience with video, live oral, and demonstration proposals.
Ability to mentor and train others to ensure consistency across multiple authors.
Possession of an Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Pay Range: Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00 The Leidos pay range for this job is a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation.
