Job Overview RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as day-to-day communications support and coordinator on a diverse roster of health industry client accounts and/or sub-projects Write and edit complex health communications materials, media materials, collateral and other client-facing deliverables Build and maintain press lists; cultivate relationships with health care reporters, editors, producers, bloggers, and other media professionals Maintain knowledge of health care issues subject matter, evolving health policy and political issues that impact clients’ businesses Assist with media outreach strategies, including crafting and executing newsworthy and complex pitches Demonstrate an understanding and contribute to digital & social media platforms and their influence on strategic goals Manage multiple projects, including task and deadline tracking, for multiple clients from concept to completion Contribute to firm’s new business process and efforts Demonstrate strong client-relations skills – responsive, professional, helpful ATTRIBUTES A BA/BS degree in a related field and at least 2-4 years of relevant agency or in-house experience Familiarity and experience with health industry communications preferred Extremely strong writing and communications skills; ability to produce clear, concise communications materials within tight deadlines Superior research and editing skills Ability to identify and cultivate key media contacts and outlets for a range of clients Experience pitching stories to local and national news outlets Experience with rapid response or 'war room' efforts Strong strategic thinking and long-term planning skills Ability to project manage and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment In Washington, DC the base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $75,000—$90,000 USD. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
