Ozarks Electric, headquartered in Fayetteville, Arkansas with offices in Springdale, Arkansas, Stilwell, and Westville Oklahoma incorporated in 1938, is a member-owned electric cooperative, serving more than 90,000 meters across nine counties in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: College degree, in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field, with at least four years of experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills. Experience in magazine publishing is a plus.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Strong knowledge of AP Style. Professional portfolio showcasing storytelling and design skills, particularly in community-focused publications. Good understanding of marketing concepts and best graphic design practices.
MAJOR JOB TASKS:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive editorial calendar for the member publication.
- Brainstorm and conceptualize ideas for articles, features and layouts.
- Research, write and edit compelling articles, features and member spotlights. Conduct interviews with staff, members and industry experts to gather unique stories. Ensure all content is accurate, engaging and consistent with Ozarks' brand, tone and values, following AP Style and house style.
- Design visually appealing layouts that enhance the readability and impact of the magazine. Create or oversee the creation of graphics, charts and illustrations to accompany articles. Work with photography and ensure high-quality visuals are used throughout the magazine.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and align content with marketing campaigns.
- Manage the end-to-end production of the magazine, from concept to final print. Coordinate with staff writers and photographers both externally and internally. Ensure all deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Liaise with printer to ensure smooth production and distribution.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop and implement creative/editorial strategy and general writing duties.

Vendors: Handle general inquiries and coordination.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a current Arkansas driver's license without violations that would prohibit insurability.
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment with speed and accuracy. Possess strong organizational and time management skills and be detail-oriented. Must have thorough knowledge and proficiency in all design software (Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud). Must be proficient in Mac OS X and Microsoft Office.
- Must possess a strong work ethic with desire to take on new tasks and responsibilities. Must also be a self-starter, willing to take the lead on new projects without direction or supervision. Ability to work collaboratively and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Usual office conditions with regular working hours, occasional overtime and travel.
