The Office of Community Engagement is UofL's central administrative office with a mission to facilitate the use of university knowledge and resources to support partnerships advancing the mutual needs of the community and the university. The office promotes transformative experiences for faculty, staff, and students through engaged scholarship, outreach, and service to address community issues in Louisville, across the region, and around the world.
This role will primarily focus on enhancing communication strategies and executing marketing initiatives to strengthen community engagement.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement communication plans to effectively engage community members and stakeholders.
Create content for various platforms including social media, newsletters, website updates, and press releases.
Coordinate and promote community events, workshops, and initiatives to foster relationships and encourage participation.
Monitor social media channels and respond to community inquiries and comments in a timely manner.
Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and ensure consistency in branding.
Preferred Qualifications
Administrative assistant work experience. Strong commitment to customer service excellence. A focus on health equity issues. Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams/Zoom. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Competencies
Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Curious: Someone who enjoys learning, who always wants to know "what's next?"
Positive orientation: Enjoys collaboration, co-creation, and problem-solving. Has a bias for action and sense of urgency in achieving results.
Communications and Media: Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
Detail orientation: Must be able to take ownership of multiple complex projects to ensure completion of projects with multiple stakeholders and compliance with a variety of systems and processes.
Assertiveness: Must be able to hold a variety of co-workers and partners accountable for meeting deadlines and following necessary processes.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
