Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Color, Material and Finish Designer to join our expanding creative community at Stanley 1913. This position will lead the strategy, design, and execution of on-product CMF, reinforcing the overall seasonal design and brand strategy across programs and partnerships. Reporting to the Senior CMF Design Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional partners in Product Development, Product Management, and Industrial Design. You will build designs that encourage consumers to lead a more balanced and less disposable life while supporting Stanley’s integrity, performance, and innovation promise. Responsibilities
Craft and implement CMF strategies that align with global commercial and merchandising goals in our programs and brand partnerships. Exhibit a broad aesthetic range and background across active, culture, lifestyle, and premium retail spaces. Adapt to various design styles seamlessly. Develop design stories to drive CMF vision and take ownership of design execution on products while addressing customer needs. Research and leverage design trends to build collections and print/finish stories that support program and partnership strategies. Follow established timelines and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure timely delivery of creative concepts and design assets. Represent the brand positively to internal and external partners, improving our reputation. Build artwork and collaborate with render artists to produce visual assets for go-to-market materials, presentations, and sampling. Mentor designers and associate designers in the programs and partnership space. Provide Product Development team with color callouts for sampling. Work with Production artists to hand off creative assets for the creation of production-ready artwork files. Partner with Product Development and Product Management to review and approve samples. Education & Experience
A degree in CMF Design, Graphic Design, Apparel Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5-10 years of professional CMF design-related experience. Proficiency in graphic and print/pattern creation. Highly motivated and collaborative self-starter – proactive in managing projects and ensuring access to collaborators. Experience in softgoods is a plus. Experience working in both retail and wholesale channels. Expertise in print application and decoration methods on hardgoods. A creative curiosity about CMF development, innovations, and technical execution. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and visually. Comfortable with iterative testing and learning processes. Objective and adaptable to feedback. Flexible and adaptable to the evolving needs of a growing brand. Ability to travel as required. Proficiency in Illustrator Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test proficiency PLM experience Keyshot Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
