Sacramento State's Title V DHSI Project “Degree with a Purpose: Integration of Career Development and Financial Wellness into the College Experience” addresses educational and economic barriers for Latinx and low-income students through a cross-campus strategy that places career development as a priority focus of students’ college experience from enrollment to graduation to career.
RATE OF PAY: $22.42 - $33.63 per hour

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a Federal Grant Funded position with an expected end date of September 30, 2026. Continuation of this position is contingent on renewed grant funding.
This position is a full-time, non-exempt (eligible for overtime pay), benefited position, with a defined contribution retirement plan through TIAA. (The position is not covered under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System.) Continued employment in this position is dependent upon funding and the mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee, and either University Enterprises or the employee, can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Program continuation is contingent upon funding.
The selected candidate must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the United States. University Enterprises, Inc. is not a sponsoring agency (i.e. H-1B Visa).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication Studies, Media, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work
Experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design, photography, and video creation. Ability to judge spatial relationships, linear sequence, and related graphic design characteristics.
Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, demonstrating proficiency in creating engaging content that effectively reaches a wide range of audiences.
Capable of managing several projects at once while meeting deadlines, possessing strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Experience supervising or leading one or more employees.
Ability to function effectively as part of a team and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of students, faculty, community groups, and staff.
Demonstrated experience using word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and email software such as the programs in the Microsoft Office Suite. General knowledge of career computer technology and office communications.
Experience working with students from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide programs and/or services to a diverse student population.
Ability to understand, interpret and apply moderately complex rules, policies, regulations, and procedures.
Must be fingerprinted and pass a background check. Must continue to meet the established standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and video editing tools to create visually appealing marketing content.
Experience within an educational or career services environment in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience creating, designing, and analyzing official marketing materials using graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Working knowledge of layout needs for photography and printing processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a hybrid office environment and remote work environment; continuous contact with staff, students, campus community, and occasional travel to event or service sites. Occasional weekend and evening work for events if required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The university’s Title V DHSI funded Project, “Degree with a Purpose: Integration of Career Development and Financial Wellness into the College Experience,” (P031S210061) a federally-funded program, is designed to address educational and economic barriers for students through a cross-campus strategy that places career development as a priority focus of students’ college experience from enrollment to graduation to career. The program is administered through the Sacramento State Career Center, ensuring effective program administration and alignment with broader institutional objectives. The Career Resources Marketing Associate plays a crucial role within the Career Center team, tasked with developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns to promote career resources and services. The primary objective of this position is to increase awareness, engagement, and utilization of career resources among students, job seekers, and employers and enhance our existing culture of student success by embedding career services into the student experience. The individual in this role will create impactful marketing materials, manage digital and social media campaigns, and work closely with stakeholders to effectively convey the benefits of career development resources. The Career Resources Marketing Associate manages supporting documentation required by the U.S. Department of Education; communications outreach.
The position reports directly to the Sacramento State Career Center Administrative Support Coordinator II and indirectly reports to the Career Center Director and DHSI Project Director/Principal Investigator. The position directly supervises the graphic design student assistants.
The specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Works with the Career Center, staff, faculty, and employers, and students to support outreach and project management in support of the “DHSI project Degree with a Purpose: Integration of Career Development and Financial Wellness into the College Experience” career technology components.
Facilitates training and project planning related to career and goal setting technology such as Handshake, Labor Market Insights, and Focus2Career aligned with career development/financial wellness projects.
Assists with action research projects and career technology projects.
Connects recipients to resources and ensures alignment with project outcomes.
Develops and executes comprehensive marketing plans to boost awareness of career services and resources, while aligning with the department’s objectives and goals.
Creates a range of well-crafted print and digital marketing materials, such as brochures, yers, posters, advertisements, infographics, videos, social media posts, and email campaigns to effectively communicate the advantages of career resources.
Collaborates closely with the Career Center team to develop and implement promotional strategies for career fairs, workshops, and networking events, ensuring the use of effective messaging and engagement tactics.
Develops and maintains the visual identity of the Career Center, ensuring consistency across all platforms and materials.
Develops graphics for proposals, presentations, and reports that effectively communicate complex information in a clear and visually appealing manner.
Designs and produces digital assets for the Career Center’s website, social media channels, and email campaigns.
Collaborates with staff to produce visual content for student presentations and campus-wide meetings.
Supports the creation of video content, including storyboarding and graphic elements.
Designs promotional graphics for print and digital formats; drafts and disseminates event notications. Designs signage, banners, and promotional items for fairs, industry events, and campus functions.
Collaborates with the Student Affairs’ Communications team to devise creative ways to reach potential students and to deepen our engagement with existing students.
Works with colleagues from various teams, including product managers and graphic designers, to coordinate and implement projects from start to nish.
Assists with the development, execution, and production of promotional and programmatic videos, as needed. Provides onsite event support, runs on-campus errands, assists with supply inventory, completes components of a specialized project, and assists with website updates.

This is not a University position; the incumbent will be an employee of University Enterprises.
