SciensBuilding Solutionsis seeking anexperiencedFire SprinklerSystem Designer.Thisis a key position for our growing teamthatrequiresknowledge andattention to detail in all aspectsof NFPA13,14, 20 & 24.This position will work closely with our estimating, project management,field,and fabrication teams.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
Read and interpret construction documents and plans.Fire sprinkler design of automatic fire systems, including fire pumps, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain individual schedule and completion dates.Create detailed drawingsthrough the use ofHydraCADsoftware.Use BIM to design system onto engineered drawings.Conduct field surveys and assist field personnel with design-related installation issues.Performhydrauliccalculations and detail stock lists forfabrication.Ensure work complies with applicable codes and AHJ requirements.Pre-construction coordination with other trades.Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.Knowledge offire industry.Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements.Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems,as well as backflows and fire pumps.WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
Two to five years of fire protection system layout and calculation experience.Experience with installation of underground piping.NICET level II in water-based systems layout.HydraCADand 3D coordinationexperience.Experience with fire sprinkler industry design software.Ability to read fire system design drawingsProficient in NFPA 13, 14, 20 & 24 code requirements.Ability to read fire system design drawings.WHAT WE'RE BRINGING TO THE TABLE
