RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have primary responsibility for providing customers with new product definition, technical support, creating technical documentation, assisting in back-end product activities, validation of new products and overseeing third party programmer support for Winbond’s line of SpiFlash memory products. The position will have a strong emphasis for resolving customer reported technical problems and providing customers, reps and distributors with applications support and product documentation. Additionally, the position will ensure that product features are fully verified at Winbond and customer sites before production shipments.
Principal Duties
Product Validation
- Monitor and work with PE on Alpha testing
- Tester, customer application board, programmer etc.,
- Exercise products in ways that are difficult for, or not tested by, our test programs
- Alpha test: power up, temp, voltage, noise, functions not included in the test program, PROM Programmers and system-based application environment
- Beta test: monitor customer applications, sampled customers
- Manage and report on results of early users and betas-sites
- Compile and review characterization data with specifications
- Compare competitors’ devices by characterization and validation
- Identify problems and drive DE and PE to resolve or refute
Applications Support
- Technical support (emails, phone, visits) for reps, disti, customers, reference designs
- Customer visits to support technical issues
- Technical product documentation: data sheet, app notes, presentations, etc.,
- Oversee third party programmer support
- Oversee Verilog and IBIS Model generation
New Product definition
- Define new product Specification based on market trend and customer requirement
- Analyze new product trend from the market
- Communication with engineering team
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong Design and/or test and product engineering backgrounds with good understanding of Flash memory specifications, testers and programming equipment.
- Strong system debug skills and effective use of related lab equipment
- Strong understanding of Flash memory architectures and features
- Understanding of systems architectures (uC and uPs) and related software languages
- Preference will be given to those with experience working at a SoC or Box manufacturer (embedded systems company such as networking, smart home, smart factory, wearables).
- PC skills - Word, Power Point, Excel
- SW skills - Verilog, IBIS
- Good communication skills
- A willingness to travel
- 7 years+- experience in semiconductor DE, PE, TE and/or Applications
- BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering
