Overview
Seeking an individual ready to lead a full-stack software engineering team. You will be a leader by example for a Lean, Agile, and eXtreme Programming (XP) team. Daily, we engage in paired programming, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) methods. You will collaborate closely and continuously with fellow engineers, product owners, and multiple stakeholders. This is a highly visible position within the Ford Enterprise Technology. We’re currently building out multiple applications with a Global Impact.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Ready to start developing software on day 1
- Experience with microservice architectures, including gateway, authentication, and config services; knowledge of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins; hosting solutions like Google Cloud
- Experience with zero downtime, blue-green deployment
- Database schema management with h2 and Liquibase
- Supporting migrations for updates and new data centers
- OAuth and ADFS authentication
- Integration with third-party services such as LDAP, O365, and MS Teams
- HIPAA & PII data handling and encryption
Other Needs
- Strong communication skills and interest in a paired-programming environment
- Passion for skill growth, tackling exciting work and challenging problems
- Experience deploying to cloud environments is a plus
- Willingness to mentor and develop team members to foster a vibrant workplace and enable the product team to deliver a market-leading product quickly
Nice to Have (Software and Practices)
Experience with eXtreme Programming (XP) disciplines, including paired programming, test-first/test-driven development (TDD), Spring Cloud, deploying to cloud platforms (e.g., Pivotal Cloud Foundry), front-end web development with JavaScript and client-side MVC frameworks (e.g., Angular, Vue), CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Gradle), RESTful API standards/tools, and SQL database scripting.

This role is based out of Dearborn, MI, with on-site work required up to 3 days/week.
