Ford Model E Platform Architecture Engineering is seeking a Staff embedded software engineer to work on Audio DSP platform software. This role involves developing automotive software solutions and embedded software modules for electric vehicles, focusing on platform software for audio hardware and DSP. You should be adaptable to new ideas and embrace fast failure as part of the development process. Qualifications
Minimum requirements: B.S. in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 10+ years of proven experience in embedded software development Hands-on experience troubleshooting embedded audio systems and platform software (firmware, driver) Deep knowledge of DSP algorithms and hardware for audio post-processing Programming skills in C, C++, and Python Excellent documentation, writing, and communication skills Willingness to learn new areas We value diverse experiences; if you believe you can contribute to Ford, we encourage you to apply! Responsibilities
What you’ll do: Lead development of next-gen software components for EVs, collaborating with architects and engineers. Analyze requirements and design innovative DSP and audio platform software solutions. Develop and test DSP and platform software on multi-core high-end SoCs with virtual domains. Create efficient algorithms for real-time audio processing, noise cancellation, echo suppression, spatial audio, and voice functionalities. Evaluate third-party solutions to accelerate development and add value. Develop methods and tools for vehicle acoustic tuning to achieve top-tier performance. Develop DSP algorithms and drivers for AVAS specifications. Customize and test audio post-processing algorithms for voice use cases. Innovate in audio subsystem firmware and driver development for hardware interfaces like I2S, I2C, GPIO. Analyze and optimize resource usage (clock, memory) for audio solutions. About Ford
