- Produce a rooftop or ground-mount photovoltaic layout using Aurora, BrightPath, and/or Everbright while considering external requirements and preferences.
- Identify any factors that may affect the scope of work including project cost, installation complexity, and feasibility.
- Create and maintain Construction plans using AutoCAD and internal design tools that are compliant with Municipality and Utility requirements.
- Determine the optimal point of interconnection based on existing electrical infrastructure and conditions, with an eye for ease of installation.
- Complete electrical load calculations to determine the feasibility of various electrical scopes of work.
- Manage a regional pipeline of Construction Engineering tasks, including new projects, revisions to existing projects, and tickets.
- Work closely with Regional Branches to establish rapport and a direct line of communication between Engineering and Field Operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- All assigned designs, rework, and tickets completed within 24 hours.
- Achieve 95% quality within a rolling 30-day period.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or similar degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional design experience in the solar industry.
- Experience with AutoCAD (or equivalent).
- Previous experience managing projects from initial design to installation, preferred.
- Experience with permitting processes with local authorities having jurisdiction, preferred.
- Ability to design Roof-Mount and Ground-Mount photovoltaic systems.
- Understanding of relevant Electrical concepts to Solar, including tie-in methods, red flags, and relevant chapters in the NEC.
- Competency in basic Structural concepts including residential roof framing types and components.
- Familiarity with various roof attachment and racking assemblies, including factors influencing and limiting product choice.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to concisely describe problems, solutions, and needs.
- Must be a team player, focused on achieving team and Company goals ahead of their own.
- Must work well unsupervised and be self-motivated.
- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.

- Regularly spend long hours in intense concentration reviewing and entering information into a computer.
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects.
