Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up the press to run jobs using job instructions prepared specifically for each project
- Be responsible for maximizing productivity while maintaining a high level of quality in all printed materials produced on your press
- Running Heatset web offset presses
- Running Color
- Register on RGS and CCR Systems
- Setting up WPM and Baldwin rotary cutters
- Monitor the quality of the materials being produced
- Troubleshoot problems and make necessary corrections, involving a mechanic when necessary
- Communicates essential information regarding incomplete setups, potential problems, and other information pertinent to the job at shift change. Fills out all daily production and quality paperwork.
- Supervise the work of Press Helpers assigned to your press
Qualifications
- Detail oriented and committed to quality
- Possess proactive problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to multi-task within a manufacturing environment
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for duration of shift
- Basic math skills (knowledge of calculator and ruler)
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of prior experience operating a press, including working knowledge of 4 color, UV curing, plow-folds and ink jet
