Content Manager

Description
Working closely with brand managers and product teams, the Content Manager will take positioning and product information and then shape and elevate each brand’s narrative, ensuring that every message connects meaningfully with the diverse range of music makers we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Freelance and External Resources: Oversee a team of freelance writers and content specialists, providing clear direction, brand-specific guidelines, and feedback to maintain high standards and brand consistency.
- Define Brand Messaging Strategy: Collaborate with brand managers to develop, refine, and implement messaging strategies for each brand, ensuring every deliverable aligns with the brand’s identity and speaks authentically to its audience.
- Develop and Maintain Editorial Guidelines: Create and manage brand-specific editorial guidelines, ensuring every writer and team member is aligned on voice, tone, and style across all platforms.
- Ensure Consistency Across Brands and Channels: Lead consistency in tone of voice and messaging across all customer touchpoints, aligning content with each brand’s unique identity and the distinct needs of its target audience.
- Deep Focus on Music Maker Personas: Leverage in-depth knowledge of the needs of various music maker personas, from hobbyists to professionals, to ensure messaging that resonates across a spectrum of music making communities.
- Monitor and Adjust Strategy Based on Performance: Regularly assess content effectiveness through performance metrics and audience feedback, making adjustments to maximize resonance and engagement.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5+ years of experience in messaging strategy, copywriting, brand or content leadership and with experience in the MI industry or a related creative field
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple brands, projects, and timelines seamlessly
- Strong experience managing freelance writers and external resources, with the ability to provide high-level guidance and alignment with brand standards
- Proven ability to lead messaging strategy across diverse audiences, product categories, and channels
- In-depth understanding of MI brands, trends in music technology, and the varying needs of different music maker personas, including producers, instrumentalists, and electronic musicians
