Responsibilities
Summary
The Library Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining a recreation program for detainees, overseeing recreation facilities and equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize the circulation of library materials.
- Assist in directing and training detainee library aides.
- Assist in selecting library books, periodicals, and materials for purchase.
- Conduct library inventories and maintain related records.
- Assist in conducting library orientation sessions with instructors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in library sciences or related field, or provisional/professional Librarian Certification preferred.
- Experience in operating small institutional libraries preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
