SUMMARY: The firm’s Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall marketing strategy, executing campaigns, and ensuring brand consistency across all channels. This employee will work closely with leadership to align marketing efforts with the firm's business goals. This role is focused on enhancing client relationships and ensuring the firm remains engaged with its client base, team members, and communities through regular communication, events, and personalized marketing initiatives. This role also has a strong focus on external business development efforts by facilitating opportunities to win new business and expand services to existing firm clients.
HMV’s Marketing Manager will develop and execute comprehensive marketing and business development strategies as detailed below.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brand Management & Digital Marketing:
- Responsible for creating or managing creation and distribution of promotional materials (brochures, giveaways) and visual assets (banners, graphics, videos) for in-person events, online campaigns and digital initiatives to enhance client interactions.
- Coordinate digital marketing initiatives (website, SEO, email campaigns).
- Direct and manage content for the firm’s website, newsletters, and social media platforms, establishing thought leadership and attracting potential clients.
- Optimize the website for SEO to boost organic traffic and increase online visibility.
- Track and analyze digital marketing performance (traffic, engagement, conversions). Results regularly reported to Firm leadership.
- Manage social media presence and content calendar across platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
- Collaborate with client service departments (Tax, Audit, etc.) to align marketing with client acquisition and retention strategies.
- Monitor and maintain the firm's Client Relationship Manager (CRM) system.
- Support lead generation efforts through client referrals, testimonials, and word-of-mouth marketing.
- Ensure appropriate advancement of digital tools and technologies necessary to maintain and support the firm’s digital delivery of relevant content.
- Manage marketing budget and ensure cost-effective campaign execution.
Client, Employee and Community Engagement:
- Review Request for Proposal (RFPs) and format proposal drafts using existing branded materials (minimal original writing required) in collaboration with leadership and team of service providers.
- Maintain the firm’s proposal activity log and reference materials listing up-to-date staff and office counts in accordance with Human Resources.
- Creating presentations and placemats as requested.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute client and employee events such as webinars, client appreciation events, and networking opportunities with assistance from Firm Management Coordinator.
- Oversee internal event planning such as firm meeting and firm-wide volunteer day.
- Measure the effectiveness of client engagement activities, collecting feedback to continuously improve client experience.
- Skilled in managing public relations initiatives, including drafting and distributing press releases, establishing and maintaining media relationships, and coordinating media outreach to maximize brand visibility and positive media coverage.
Business Development:
- Supports firm business development efforts through intentional networking and use of firm technology (business development software, CRM, etc.).
- Develops and sustains strong client, employee and community relationships.
- Conducts market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities.
- Develops industry-specific client generation strategies.
- Collaborates with leadership to establish and maintain individual business development plans.
- Tracks and reports results of annual RFP submissions.

- Participates in Firm, professional and civic activities that contribute to the community and overall marketing effort of Heard, McElroy, & Vestal.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Indirectly supervises Firm Management Coordinator. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and overseeing work; and appraising performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Marketing, Mass Communications, or a related business degree with strong academic track record; current or recent marketing experience with a minimum of five years’ experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office, social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva as well as Wordpress highly preferred. Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware and peripheral devices.

Ability and judgment to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees, clients and management. Actively develops team members at all levels. Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk or use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
