Throughout the year, the Lambert Center for Arts + Ideas offers a rich roster of programs and events for our community members and the general public, including gallery exhibits, media arts presentations, film screenings, conversations with noted artists and innovators, performing arts, and studio art classes and workshops.
The Art Studios Manager is a vital contributor to the Lambert Center's work, partnering with the Center Director to manage the art studios' operations, including ceramics, painting and crafts. Successful applicants will be skilled task managers who have ceramics studio management experience and a passion for art, culture, and community.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Art Studios Management:
Manage and supervise the ceramics studio staff (including five monitors and ten teachers): Build and maintain relationships, create studio schedules, and provide support, class information, and materials for Ceramics Instructors.
Manage studio operations, materials, and supplies, including clay, glazes, paints, and more.
Manage Kiln firing, glaze mixing, and clay making.
Making a roster of classes for drawing, painting, and crafts.
Supervising the new Makers Room remodeling.
Finance and Data: Tracking expenses, preparing salary reports, overseeing the collection of all studio fees, and entering data into the JCC Systems.
Building community: building the artist's community with newsletters, special events, special workshops, etc.
Qualifications:
Ceramics Studio Management experience, including Glaze Mixing, Clay making, and Firing.
Highly organized with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diplomacy and clarity
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to track budgets
Comfortable and proficient in learning and working with a variety of computer applications.
Ability to work nights and weekends
Salary Range:
