The Role and What You’ll Do:
This position is responsible for supporting the photography function of the Global Brand Creative department.
- Organizes and manages the UFC photo library.
- Processes event images and uploads them into the archival system.
- Color-corrects and tones portrait images for use in creative and broadcast assets.
- Assists Art Directors and Designers in masking/cloning of images.
- Retouches athlete, landscape, and product photography for marketing purposes.
- Captions, edits, and delivers photos to Getty Images.
- Captions, edits, and delivers photos for requests from vendors, partners, and internal departments.
- Prepares and updates shot lists in advance of portrait photo shoots.
- Prepares and updates instructions for new photographers to help their coverage of all types of events.
- Manages database of photographers and editors, both staff and freelance.
- Assists with arranging and scheduling shoots, as well as assigning photographers for various types of shoots.
- Captions, edits, and delivers photos during the fights to Getty Images and UFC.com.
- Is prepared to shoot photos around campus and at the Performance Institute when needs arise.
- Remote edits for photographers in the field.
- Assists photographers with any equipment needs or issues.
You Have These:
- Proficiency in common industry photo-editing software, including but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Photo Mechanic, and other similar applications.
- Knowledge of photo manipulation and retouching skills using Adobe Photoshop—masking out backgrounds, white balance and color corrections, removing blemishes, scars, bruises, and the like, and other types of creative manipulations.
- Basic understanding of the process of ingesting, captioning, and transmitting photos on a deadline.
- Basic knowledge of photography techniques, including understanding exposure, composition, lighting techniques, and other fundamentals of photography.
