La Rabida Children's Hospital is hiring a full-time Grant Writer for our Fund Development and External Affairs department in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:
The Grant Writer will secure government grants (State, Federal, City and County) on behalf of La Rabida Children's Hospital. He or she will manage all aspects of the process including identification of opportunities, proposal development, writing, submission and reporting
Essential Grant Writer Functions:
Research, identify and analyze new funding opportunities from government agencies that would apply to the La Rabida mission. Manage existing grants and oversee the management, maintenance/renewal and reporting. Develop, edit and submit grant proposals on deadlines that include project description, budgetary guidelines and evaluation. Work with program staff, financial staff, and development staff to create narrative, evaluation expectations, and budget components of proposals and reports in a timely and effective manner. Attend departmental meetings to ensure staying up to date with program progress and accomplishments. Develop and maintain relationships with representatives from grant agencies and familiarize them with our mission, programs and services. Identify and utilize a grant management system for tracking and project management. Maintain a calendar related to grant funding opportunities, including proposal due dates, RFP release dates, and annual grant and contract opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Performs other duties upon request. Compensation Information: $64,439.307 - $75,000.00.
