Oakland Hills Country Club is seeking a talented and experienced creative professional to join our growing team. This role is integral to the Club’s communications department, focusing on the development of digital and print content while ensuring brand consistency and innovation.
This dynamic position also involves website administration, email marketing, and the production of video and photo content. Success in this role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of communication trends to effectively engage members, staff, and the public.
A passion for communication, sporting history, and delivering a world-class membership experience is essential, along with a proactive approach to leveraging design as a storytelling tool to enhance messaging and elevate the Club’s brand presence.
Position Responsibilities
Graphic Design:
- Production of high-quality artwork, layout and designs for both print & digital marketing communications including but not limited to Flyers & Signage, Quarterly Magazines & Reports, Menus, Social Media Posts, Email Newsletters and Direct Mail Products.
- Ensure organization-wide consistency with brand guidelines and Club positioning.
- Serve as liaison with third-party printers.
Communications Production:
- Work closely with department heads to ideate and execute communications needs of club operations.
- Utilize editorial calendar to manage communications efforts and delivery efficiently.
- Develop compelling email marketing campaigns with engaging visuals and effective messaging.
- Maintain and improve the Club’s website.
- Assist in managing SMS/Texting, campus digital signage and mobile application platforms.
- Create and manage distribution of social media content.
- Stay up-to-date on social media, marketing and communications trends and implement innovative ideas to increase member engagement.
- Capture and edit photographs and video footage.
- Assist maintaining the Club’s historical archives.
- Support the team in other responsibilities as required in the absence of team members or as assigned by the Department Director or General Manager.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, media production, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a creative role, with a proven track record of producing high-quality content, supported by a strong portfolio.
- Highly skilled and efficient in visual design platforms including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite, especially, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong illustration skills, with the ability to create maps, graphs, signage, and other original artwork.
- Deep understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and branding.
- Proficient in both Mac and Windows operating systems and their key applications, including PowerPoint and Teams.
- Working knowledge of CMS, email marketing, and SMS platforms, including a basic understanding of HTML.
- Up to date with current social media trends, including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments in a dynamic team environment.
- Photography and videography experience, including capturing and editing high-quality imagery and video content. Knowledge of motion graphics and After Effects is a plus.
- Knowledge of golf, racquet sports, and/or the hospitality industry is highly advantageous.

This full-time, year-round position offers an hourly wage with a flexible schedule and the potential for hybrid work during the offseason. Occasional overtime and holiday shifts may be required.
