Pepper Construction Group is seeking a talented Graphic Design Intern for the summer of 2025. The intern will work closely with our Senior Graphic Designer to elevate Pepper's brand and strategic communications. From layout and typography to prepping files for production, our design intern will gain firsthand experience working in a professional in-house design setting. Projects will focus heavily on internal communications needs. The senior graphic designer will provide personalized one-on-one guidance and support to foster a collaborative, hands-on learning environment. The Pepper Graphic Intern will be part of Pepper's company-wide internship cohort, with various opportunities to network, experience the construction environment, and have fun!

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Study and effectively adhere to Pepper brand standards across all projects. Contribute to the maintenance and application of brand assets, colors, logos, and styles.
- Collaborate with the communications and marketing teams to merge effective messaging with engaging visuals.
- Assist in selecting images and managing files across projects.
- Attend marketing and communications meetings.
- Support internal communications needs from a graphic perspective:
- Develop user-friendly templates across multiple formats (converting an InDesign document to an editable PowerPoint slide deck, for example)
- Create graphics for use across social media, company email memos, and internal LCD screen displays.
- Conceptualize, design and produce promotional items like helmet stickers and t-shirt designs.
- Capstone Project: Develop a suite of communications templates (flyers, email announcements, slide decks) and branded tools for internal communications team.
- Bonus opportunity: Produce / provide creative direction for the 2025 Pepper Intern video
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Current college junior or senior pursuing a relevant degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the Graphic Design field. Knowledge of construction and engineering is not required but is a bonus.
- Demonstrated use of core design principles including typography, color theory, grid-based design, and white space.
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and PowerPoint (on Windows).
- Video production skills are a bonus.
- The intern must have a strong design aesthetic and must be a hard-working, self-motivated, proactive person with a creative eye and passion for their work
- Curiosity, great communication and an eagerness to learn is key
- Able to work well in a busy environment, both independently and in partnership with the marketing team.
